Stockbridge FC 4-5 Whitehill & Bordon FC

Whitehill & Bordon made it back-to-back wins on the road with a thrilling 4-5 victory over Stockbridge in the Hampshire Premier League.

The Stags started brightly and were clinical in front of goal during the opening 45 minutes. Steven Black struck first to give the Stags the lead, before Dean Worman calmly converted from the spot. Moments later, Toby Fuller powered home a header from a corner to send the visitors into the break ahead in a high-scoring half.

Stockbridge came out strong after the restart and fought their way back into the contest, finding the net to put the pressure firmly back on Whitehill & Bordon. But another penalty from Worman, coolly dispatched once again, gave the Stags breathing space. The decisive moment came with a scrappy but vital finish in the closing stages to restore the lead.

With the heavens opening for the final ten minutes, monsoon-like conditions turned the game into a real battle. The hosts pressed hard, but the Stags dug deep and defended with everything they had to hold on for a hard-earned three points away from home.

A pulsating match, full of goals and grit, that sees Whitehill & Bordon continue their climb in the league table.
