Locks Heath FC 1-2 Whitehill & Bordon FC – Match Report

Whitehill & Bordon made the trip to Cosham on Saturday afternoon to face Locks Heath on the 3G pitch, and came away with all three points after a battling performance in wet conditions.

It was the home side who struck first, taking the lead midway through the first half. Locks Heath used the surface well and asked plenty of questions of the Stags’ defence, going into the break 1–0 ahead.

After the restart, Whitehill & Bordon came out with real intent and immediately took the game to their hosts. The pressure soon told when Oli Graham found space and finished calmly to level the score.

Moments later the game was turned on its head. A well-delivered Dean Worman corner caused problems in the box and was eventually forced over the line to put the visitors in front.

From there it was a test of character. Locks Heath pushed hard for an equaliser and made life difficult in the closing stages, but Whitehill & Bordon stood firm, showing great determination and discipline to see the game out.

It was a hard-fought contest in tough, wet conditions, but the Stags showed real spirit and togetherness to claim another valuable three points.
