Whitehill & Bordon FC 3-1 Broughton: Second-Half Surge

Shayne Warren puts us in to the lead.

Some afternoons the goals just refuse to come. This was one of them.

The Stags were on top from the first whistle. Chance after chance was worked, wide areas were opened up. Somehow, it was 0-0 at the break — a scoreline that told you nothing about the game.

The second half followed the same script. Whitehill & Bordon pushed, Broughton defended. Bodies were thrown in front of shots and their goalkeeper had the kind of afternoon that makes a striker question everything. Credit where it's due — the visitors made us work for it.

Then the goals came.

Shayne Warren got on the end of a cross and finished it off to make it 1-0. From there, the game opened up.

Ciaran Judd made it two, getting the better of the keeper to double the lead, and Ritchie Hunter rounded it off with a strike to put three on the board and the result beyond doubt.

Broughton had the last word — quite literally the last kick of the game — to pull one back and take a consolation goal home with them..
