Match Report: Whitehill & Bordon FC 0-1 Hook FC

🏆 Hampshire Premier League – Sat 27th April ‘25

It was a frustrating afternoon at The Daly Ground for Whitehill & Bordon FC as they narrowly lost 0-1 to Hook FC, despite playing the entire second half against ten men.

The first half was a tight and scrappy affair, with few clear chances for either side. Both teams worked hard in the midfield battle, but neither could find the breakthrough. Just before the half-time whistle, Hook were reduced to ten men following a red card, giving the Stags an opportunity to take control after the break.

However, it was the visitors who struck first. Early in the second half, Hook capitalised on a defensive lapse to take a 0-1 lead, putting the pressure firmly on Whitehill & Bordon. Despite enjoying plenty of possession and pushing hard for an equaliser, the Stags struggled to create enough clear-cut chances to break down a resilient and organised Hook side.

It was a disappointing result given the circumstances, but the effort and commitment from the lads couldn’t be faulted.

Manager’s Comments:

“We’re all disappointed because we know we could and should have done better, especially against ten men. We just didn’t show enough quality in the final third when it mattered. We’ve got to regroup quickly — the games are coming fast and we need to stay positive.”

Thank you to everyone who came down to back the lads. Your support is always appreciated.
