Match Report: Whitehill & Bordon FC 2-1 Andover Town
🏆 Hampshire Premier League – Saturday 4th May 2024
Whitehill & Bordon FC showed resilience and determination to come from behind and claim a 2-1 win over Andover Town on a bright afternoon at The Daly Ground. Second-half goals from James McKay and Oli Graham turned the game around and secured a valuable three points for the Stags.
After a cagey first half that saw both sides create half-chances, it was the visitors who struck first shortly after the restart. Andover Town capitalised on a defensive lapse to take a 1-0 lead early in the second half, putting pressure on the home side to respond.
The Stags didn’t panic. They regrouped and pushed forward with intent. Their efforts paid off when James McKay found the net with a composed finish to bring the scores level. The equaliser injected energy into the team, and momentum quickly shifted in Whitehill & Bordon’s favour.
Shortly after, Oli Graham struck what proved to be the winner — a well-taken goal that completed the comeback and sent the home crowd into celebration. The final stages saw some disciplined defending to keep Andover at bay, ensuring a deserved and hard-fought win.
