Stags Share the Points at Liphook – Match Report

Liphook Utd 2 – 2 Whitehill & Bordon FC

Tuesday 6th August 2025 | 6:30pm KO | Liphook Recreation Ground

Whitehill & Bordon FC
came from two goals down to earn a deserved point in a fiercely contested local derby against Liphook United on Tuesday evening.

With an early 6:30pm kickoff the game started with intensity. The hosts took advantage of some early defensive lapses, racing into a 2-0 lead before the half-hour mark.

The Stags responded well and found their way back into the contest thanks to a superb strike from Shayne Warren, whose long-range effort left the Liphook keeper with no chance. Unfortunately, Shaynes’s evening was cut short shortly after as he was forced off with an injury.

Despite the setback, Whitehill & Bordon dug deep. The equaliser came through Mikey Cornwell, who made it 2-2. With tensions rising, Liphook were reduced to 10 men in the closing stages, but the Whitehill & Bordon couldn’t quite find the winner despite applying late pressure.

A hard-earned point on the road in a gritty derby encounter – next up, the Stags return to The Daly Ground.
